The Firm provides legal representation to individuals concerning bankruptcy or companies dealing with voluntary or involuntary winding-ups.
We are able to advise all creditors with regard to recovery in bankruptcy or winding-up proceedings. In winding-up proceedings, where Liquidators are appointed by the Court, we also regularly advise Creditors on whether such conduct of the Liquidator is beneficial to the client and other creditors in the winding-up process.
In situations where such conduct by the Liquidator is detrimental to the general well-being of the winding-up process, the firm has been retained to deal with highly contentious and complex proceedings for the removal of such Liquidators.
The Firm also regularly acts for Court Appointed Liquidators, advising them in their conduct of liquidating a wound-up Company. Here, the work undertaken may include among others the following:
Recovery against Debtors by way of Court proceedings
Defending the Company in Arbitration or Court Proceedings
Recovery against errant Directors
Legal representation during Negotiations/Meetings
Any other applications in Court for the benefit of the winding-up process

For cases concerning Adoption, the Firm is also regularly retained by couples desirous on adopting a child as their own. Here, we will assess each couple’s needs and advise them on the Adoption process which may include formalising the Adoption through Court proceedings.
The Firm also encourages clients to consider Alternative Dispute Resolution given the circumstances. With the agreement of both parties, we are able to conduct Mediation in order to resolve the dispute amicably.
For example, in Divorce proceedings where disputes can be acrimonious and associated with heavy financial and emotional costs, the firm encourages couples to undergo Mediation before initiating any form of Court proceedings.
On a case to case basis, we may also encourage our clients in any Civil, Corporate or Commercial dispute to consider Mediation if circumstances permit.
In Mediation, proceedings are conducted in absolute privacy where the focus is always on identifying solutions on resolving a dispute. The Firm is able to undertake the role of Mediator where the focus is on facilitating the discourse and ensuring that the best possible outcome of a negotiated settlement is reached for the disputing parties.
